The Virtuous Olive Leaf

The Virtuous Olive Leaf

Have you noticed an olive tree lately with its small dark green leaves? Just peeking into that canopy exposes a treasure of health rewards.
It's likely you have tried olive soap and perhaps even olive leaf extract as an immunity booster and cold and flu antidote. Did you also know that olive leaf hydrosol (steam distilled) is brilliant at nourishing and hydrating your skin? I regularly distil olive leaf for this hydrosol, to use in Skyezone skin care products. Here is how it works for your skin….
Here is why:
Olive Leaf Hydrosol in Action

Nourish & Hydrate:

Its packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that help nourish and rejuvenate skin by improving hydration levels. The results show in softer and more supple skin... ahh Regen-Ultra and Honey Dew

Soothe and Calm:
For sensitive or irritated skin, its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe redness, itching, and irritation, making it an excellent choice for those with conditions like eczema or rosacea. A new and improved version of our ‘Skin Balm’ is coming very soon!

Balance and Tone:
It possesses natural astringent properties to help balance oil production and tone your skin. It can be especially beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin, as it helps to minimize excess sebum and unclog pores, reducing the occurrence of acne. So it's very important in our Face Toner

Strengthen and Revitalize Hair:
It helps nourish the hair follicle to strengthen and revitalize hair.  At the same time, it can reduce scalp dryness and fly away hair, which is why it’s in both our Shampoo and Conditioner.

Related Skyezone Products
This hydrosol can be found in many of our skin & hair care products, and is one of the 6 hydrosols we currently sell. It's fortunate that we have olive trees on site, enabling harvesting and distilling to occur on the same day.
Is it safe to use olive leaf hydrosol directly on your hair and skin?
Absolutely yes!

How to Use Olive Leaf Hydrosol

For Hair Care

  • Spray a few pumps directly onto your hair as a leave-in conditioner and to control fly-away hair
  • Apply a small amount to your scalp to alleviate dryness and itchiness.

For Skin Care

  • Use it as a refreshing facial mist at any time.
  • Mix it with your favourite moisturizer or serum for an extra boost of hydration.
  • Rehydrate your face masks, or scrubs for its moisturising benefits.

It's important to note that while olive leaf hydrosol has these potential benefits, people's skin chemistry varies, so it's best to patch test on a small area of skin before using it more widely.
