Drink hot or cold for medicinal health benefits
Black mulberry (Morus nigra) is a promising nutraceutical, and is the most medicinally important plant of the genus Morus. Studies on PubMed examining the chemical composition have shown black mulberry leaves contain high antioxidant, antimicrobial and cytotoxic activity (helpful in reducing cancers and some autoimmune diseases.)
Studies concluded that this tea is best prepared with boiling water and steeped for several mins. It can be consumed hot or cold 2-3 times a day. It can also be blended with other herbs and sweetened to taste. It imparts a subtle mulberry flavour. The leaves may be re-used at least twice before discarding into the compost.
Black Mulberry Leaf Tea is helpful in:
- lowering blood glucose levels.
- maintaining healthy levels of cholesterol.
- reducing inflammation.
- helping to strengthen bone mass.
- prevention and recovery from symptoms of the common cold virus.
- promoting weight loss.
You may wonder what's the difference between a Pharmaceutical and a Nutraceutical?
Pharmaceuticals are the result of clinical trials aimed at treating specific diseases.
Nutraceuticals are food-based substances, often originating from Eastern herb and medicine formulations, used for the prevention and treatment of diseases.

Our organically grown Nettle (Urtica dioica) contains potent antioxidants, which are substances that protect the body from aging and cell damage.
People have used it for centuries as an herbal medicine & modern research supports many of the potential health benefits of nettle and nettle tea.
To Make Tea: For a regular infusion, a teaspoon of dried nettle leaves can be steeped five to 20 minutes with water that has reached a rolling boil. You can also steep it at room temperature overnight for a strong tonic.
BENEFITS:
1. Urinary tract health:
Nettle may help flush harmful bacteria from the urinary tract. This can benefit people who have urinary conditions, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). BPH causes an enlarged prostate gland in men. This can cause pain or other problems urinating. Nettle may also help support medications you’re taking for infections or conditions related to the urinary tract.
2. Arthritis Pain
Nettle has historically been used to treat pain and sore muscles, especially related to arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation suggests nettle tea may also reduce the inflammation and pain associated with osteoarthritis.
3. Blood sugar management
Nettle has shown some promising effects on blood glucose levels. It may help the pancreas make or release more insulin, the hormone that lowers blood sugar.
4. The power of polyphenols & antioxidants
Nettle is high in plant chemicals called polyphenols. A review of the research on polyphenols suggests that these powerful compounds may play a role in the prevention and management of chronic diseases related to inflammation, such as diabetes, obesity, cancer, and heart disease. Plants like nettle also contain potent antioxidants, which are substances that protect the body from aging and cell damage.
